About Our Team

The McGill Rocket Team is a student-run design team that designs and builds rockets! We give students an opportunity to work on exciting aerospace projects and obtain hands-on experience in engineering and management. Since our debut in 2015, our team has rapidly grown to over 350 members and soared to great heights. At our last competition in 2025, we earned third place in the Advanced Launch category of Launch Canada!

Your donation will help us offset competition expenses, giving as many students as possible the chance to experience a world-class engineering competition, and fund our new projects. Some of the projects we are currently working on include:

  • A hybrid motor rocket capable of reaching 60,000 feet;
  • Upgrading our rocket engine testing facility;
  • Our CubeSat division, gearing up to submit a proposal to send a satellite in space;
  • A high-altitude balloon project to test avionics systems in house;
  • Student designed and sewn descent parachutes, and much more!
